The Film Society of Lincoln Center has announced the guest speakers for the 50th Anniversary Gala being held Monday, April 29th. Darren Aronofsky, Pedro Almodovar, Jake Gyllenhaal, Marielle Heller (pictured), Dee Rees, Martin Scorsese, Tilda Swinton and Jon Waters. The Gala will honor the half century old Film Society's past and present and look forward to its commitment in the film community.
The above announced filmmakers have all contributed to the non-profit organization's history. The Film Society was founded in 1969 to celebrate American and international film. The guest speakers will present this history along with a collection of interviews and archival footage, photographs, and film clips that will tell the story and role of the organization in New York City film culture.
The gala is the important fundraising event of the Film Society. All of the proceeds will benefit the organization in its mission to support the art and craft of cinema. The Charlie Chaplin Award Gala will return in 2020.
The evening's attire is cocktail and the option to reserve Dinner + Ceremony is available as well as ceremony only tickets. Tickets to the 50th Anniversary Gala are on sale now. Ceremony tickets may be
