Six years of IndieWorks is about to wrap. The series mantra is "Discover shorts, Find an Audience, Build local film community." The free to attend monthly screenings and now this, the Best of the Fest, bring together the creatives of NY in a casual productive environment. Q and A with filmmakers are a staple of the series presentations that run June through March. Each month, a film is given a Silver Whiskers award. All Silver Whiskers winners are invited to come back to participate in the Best of the Fest being held April 23 where the focus is celebrating the filmmakers, their work, and possible monetary prizes.
The awards ceremony will include six winners of the night: the top Golden Whiskers Award (Best Picture), category winners of Best Director, Best Ensemble Performance, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, and an Audience Choice winner. All will receive monetary prizes from sponsors Seed&Spark and 4milecircus.
