Empire State Lit for Orange Is The New Black

Orange is the New Black is now streaming on Netflix and the series is concluding with this Season 7. The Empire State Building was lit orange on Friday, July 26, 2019 in honor of the made in NY show. The orange light was also to recognize the Poussey Washington Fund. You will find out more about the fund in the series finale episodes.
Filmed in NY since the series inception, the 2013 production started by introducing audiences to Piper Chapman, who is serving time in prison for running drug money ten years prior. In Piper's inmate cohorts, we find what life experiences can happen behind bars in a federal facility for women.
