Tonight, the Brooklyn Museum is hosting First Saturdays and this month, their theme is Latinx Pride. There is music, dancing, collage-making, letter writing, and film.
The film is Rock Rubber 45s, the documentary by and about Bobbito Garcia. The film explores his life of being a basketball player, hip-hop DJ, sneakerhead, and now filmmaker. Rock Rubber 45s has screened at festivals and theaters across New York City and America. This screening is presented in partnership with the Afro-Latino Festival NYC. Admission is free, but limited to the first 330 in line at 5pm. The film starts at 6.
