Women's Film Series at Bronx Documentary Center

The Bronx Documentary Center (BDC) is holding its 5th Women's Film Series this week. The theme is the Bronx. The first screening has already passed. It was Decade of Fire by Vivian Vazquez Irizarry and Gretchen Hildebran about the Bronx burning in the 70s and it screened on Thursday, October 3rd.
Tonight at 6pm, you can catch Knock Down the House by Rachel Lears. This is the story about four women from unexpecting backgrounds running for the House of Representatives in 2018 including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
The third and final film in the series is After Maria which screens Saturday, October 12 at 6pm. After Maria shows the story of three Puerto Rican women, displaced by Hurricane Maria, navigating their families' futures in New York as their federal housing aid expires.
The BDC is located 614 Courtlandt Avenue, just a few blocks from the 149 Street stop on the 2 and 5 trains.
