Bushwick Film Festival Reaches Community Oct 3-6

Bushwick Film Festival is celebrating 6 years as a festival. Running October 3-6, 2013, the 4 day event will begin with an industry introduction Thursday evening and conclude with an awards ceremony Sunday evening. Panels, screenings, parties, community, education, and new media encompass the schedule.

Thursday evening October 3rd gives insight to the weekend's events. Ticket holders to this introduction is limited to industry, filmmakers and press. On Friday, the festival opens publicly with the U.S. premiere of We Will Riot and a Q&A with the director, producer and cast. The film presentation will be followed by the opening night party. Saturday kicks off at noon with the "Building a Better Bushwick" panel of area educators, activists, politicians, and artists as they collectively address local concerns.

New Media Day, a premiere feature to the festival's lineup, will begin at 2:00p.m. with interactive and immersion activities till 5:00p.m.  On Sunday, the short film series will screen followed by a NY Women in Film panel and then the awards ceremony at 8:00p.m. that will close the festival.
