Fundraising Screening of Margaret at CWP

(released 4/23/2025)

The 2011 film Margaret is screening April 28th at the Center at West Park on the Upper West Side.

The story goes... A young woman witnesses a bus accident, and is caught up in the aftermath, where the question of whether or not it was intentional affects many people's lives.

Starring in the film is Anna Paquin, Matt Damon, Mark Ruffalo, J. Smith-Cameron, Jean Reno, and Allison Janney. The film was written and directed by Kenneth Lonergan.

This screening, like all events at the CWP Film Center, keep the place funded. The Center is located in the West Park Presbyterian Church. There is a fight between two sides: keep the church and have it restored vs the bulldoze and rebuild side. Attending this event helps artists keep their home intact.

This particular screening will have a talkback following the screening with Writer/Director Kenneth Lonergan and his real life wife and actress in the film J. Smith-Cameron. The promos also say there will be more included in the talkback. We are not sure who this will be, but some of the other stars of the film have participated in events at the Center. Maybe there will be a surprise by one of them. Think Mark Ruffalo, Matt Damon, or Matthew Broderick.

The screening is at 7:30pm and tickets are $7.18 for students, $28.52 for gen admin, and $55.20 for reserved seats.
