Bronx Week Film Festival at Bronx Library Center

The Bronx Week Film Festival is Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 11am - 6pm. Located at the Bronx Library Center Auditorium, the event will be fully accessible to wheelchairs and is programmed for adults. The festival is an in-person event and features films that take place in the Bronx.

The following is the schedule of movies:

11AM The Warriors (1979)
A street gang known as the Warriors must fight their way from the Bronx to Coney Island when they are falsely accused of assassinating a respected gang leader.

12:30PM Beat Street (1984)
A group of Bronx teens in the early years of hip-hop attempt to break into show business.
Runtime: 105 minutes
Rating: PG

2:30PM Finding Forrester (2000)
A reclusive author hiding in his Bronx apartment befriends a talented high-school basketball player who sneaks into his home and becomes his mentor when the young player shows promise as a writer.
Runtime: 136 minutes
Rating: PG-13

4:30PM Marty (1955)
A slice-of-life Bronx tale about a shy and lonely butcher who sees the potential for a possible romance with a not-too-glamorous and equally shy school teacher.
Runtime: 91 minutes
Rating: PG

Additionally to celebrate Bronx Week a screening of "The Taking of Pelham 123" will take place on Saturday, May 17, 2pm to 4pm at the Tremont Library, Community Room.
"Armed men hijack a New York City subway train, holding passengers hostage for a ransom, and turning an ordinary day's work for dispatcher Walter Garber into a face-off with the mastermind behind the crime."
