Newark Black Film Festival is starting Wednesday, July 16th at 6pm. This festival started in 1974 is the longest running Black film festival in the United States. It showcases films that explore the intricacies of the Black experience, reflecting diverse narratives and fostering cultural enrichment.
The opening night will launch this 51st year with a reception from 6-7pm and the film will begin at 7pm. The opening night screening will be RICKY followed by a Q&A.
The festival is held at The Newark Museum of Art. The museum is located at 49 Washington Street in Newark, NJ 07102.
