African Diaspora Intl Film Fest Runs Thru Weekend

(released 12/12/2025)

The African Diaspora International Film Festival is currently underway and will run until December 14, 2025. Established in 1993, this Harlem-based minority-led, not-for-profit international film festival is now in its 33rd year. You can explore the human experience of people of color all over the world. The festival aims to inspire imaginations, disrupt stereotypes and help transform attitudes that perpetuate injustice.

Venues for this year's festival include Teachers College Columbia University, Cinema Village, and the Lenfest Center for the Arts. You can also watch a mini festival available in the U.S and Canada at this link: https://watch.eventive.org

The festival brings bold stories from Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America, North America, and Europe. The closing night film will be screening in the Cowin Auditorium at Teachers College with the film FANON. The film is a biographical drama about psychiatrist and revolutionary Frantz Fanon.

Many of the screenings have featured filmmaker Q&As, panels, and community discussions with directors, producers, and scholars. Go the festival's website to search the film line-up and find links to tickets and virtual screenings. Follow this link to the festival: https://nyadiff.org
