3i/Atlas Film Festival, Brooklyn Starts This Week

The 3I/Atlas Film Festival, Brooklyn debuts this week at Rollin Studios in Greenpoint. The festival runs April 17-30, 2026. All of the movies are independently funded and distributed. Four of the films are by Rick Schmidt, long known indie filmmaker and author of "Feature Filmmaking at Used-Car Prices".

The lineup is as follows (with introductions and Q&As with special guests for all films):

53 Spaceships (April 24-30) by Sujewa Ekanayake
His Monster (April 24-30) by Erich Cannon

The 3I/Atlas Film Festival emphasizes community engagement through in-person screenings alongside filmmaker Q&As and a mix of new premieres and rediscovered gems. It stands apart by celebrating both emerging and established indie works while exploring fresh ways to connect films with audiences.
