Stanley Nelson at Black Panther Doc Screenings

Director Stanley Nelson will be in person October 16th and 17th at the Film Forum for screenings of his documentary THE BLACK PANTHERS Vanguard of the Revolution. The film examines and critiques the Black Panthers and the FBI under the leadership of J. Edgar Hoover. The time period was the 1960's and set in America; the movement towards Black pride was blooming.

Director, producer, writer Stanley Nelson is an Emmy winning documentary filmmaker. Stanley is a MacArthur "Genius" Fellow and received the Mayor of New York's Made in NY Award recognition in November of 2014.

Laurens Grant is a Peabody and Emmy Award winner who also served as producer on the feature documentary. Aljernon Tunsil did the editing and has been recognized as an Emmy winning editor.
