45th New Directors/New Films runs March 16-27

(released 3/14/2016)

New Directors/New Films 2016 is the 45th edition for the program run by the Film Society of Lincoln Center and the Museum of Modern Art.  They bring works from emerging filmmakers to the masses of the big city.

This year, the program runs March 16-27th.  The films and filmmakers are from around the world and local filmmakers make their mark as well.

DP Kirsten Johnson and Producer Marilyn Ness will present their film Cameraperson with a Q&A on Saturday, March 26th.  That closing night screening is on standby, but you can still catch the film on Sunday, March 27th as there are tickets available.

Anna Rose Holmer presents her film The Fits on March 19th and 20th.  Nakom is a story from directors T.W. Pittman and Kelly Daniela Norris.  Norris is a Columbia grad.  Nakom screens March 18 & 19th.  Short Stay comes from Ted Fendt, a Jersey filmmaker that graduated from NYU.  Short Stay screens March 20 & 22nd.

And two New York filmmakers, Josh Kriegman and Elyse Steinberg, tell the comedic non-fiction story of Anthony Weiner's failed mayoral campaign of 2013 in the aptly named Weiner.  You can see it March 25 & 26th.  (Pun intended.)

Tickets are on sale now.  Go to www.newdirectors.org to learn more.
