The Spring 2016 season of the DAMN! Film Series comes to a close tomorrow evening. That's Tuesday, April 19.... so boom!
The DAMN stands for the hometowns of the founders: Denver, Memphis, and New York. Those founders are Lanie Zipoy and Phil Newsom. They swear that they are showcasing the best DAMN! short films around. Show up and decide for yourself.
We attended a screening last year and it was a great event with many of the cast and crews, family, and friends.
They held quite a few screenings in 2015 and have split 2016 into two seasonal sessions. The Spring session was March 1, March 28, and this April 19 night. The Fall 2016 season is still accepting submissions via FilmFreeway through June 15. In addition to the opportunity to reunite with friends at an exhibition of their work, the BEST DAMN! film of the series will be awarded $2,000 for their next film.
Screenings are held at Theaterlab, which on the 3rd floor of 357 West 36th Street in Manhattan. Tickets are $7.00 with doors opening at 6:45pm and the show starts at 7:15pm. http://www.damnfilmseries.com
