Cast, crew and friends for the opening night film Little Men
BAMcinemaFest Brings Stars, Continues Thru Weekend

(released 6/23/2016)

BAMcinemaFest 2016 is going into the final weekend. There is still time to participate in this year's festival. On Thursday, June 23 at Brooklyn Bridge Park, Pier 1 there will be an outdoor screening of Kiki. Co-presented by the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy, this profile of New York City's youthful vogue culture goes behind the scenes and deeper into the LGBT youth of color injustices experienced from four years of footage. The film, directed by Sara Jordeno and featuring activist and cultural leader Twiggy Pucci Garçon, will screen at sundown.

The festival opened June 15 at the BAM Harvey Theater with a screening of Little Men. Directed by Ira Sachs, the film stars Greg Kinnear and young actors Theo Taplitz and Michael Barbieri.  Taplitz and Barbieri become neighbors and friends and soon after, a feud ignites between the parents over a rent hike.  Representing the film at the opening night screening were writer/director Ira Sachs, actors Greg Kinnear, Theo Taplitz, Michael Barbieri, Mauricio Bustamante, Stella Schnabel, Madison Wright, producer Lucas Joaquin, and co-writer Mauricio Zacharias.  Also in attendance were Kathleen Turner, Lauren Hutton, Zoe Kazan, Mamie Gummer, Josh Mond, Nicolas Pesce, Crystal Moselle, Arturo Castro, Mukunda Angulo, Narayana Angulo, Josh Pais, Keith Poulson, and BAM President Katy Clark.

Film screenings continue through the festival scheduled till Sunday, June 26, at the BAM Rose Cinemas.  And this includes a screening of A Woman, A Part with a Q&A with director Elisabeth Subrin and actor Cara Seymour at 6pm.

The Closing Night Film is a return of Brooklyn Director Tim Sutton to BAM with his film Dark Night. Connecting lives of suburbia with the violent intersection life brings, the film screening will include a Q&A with Sutton at this, the film's NY premiere. The closing night film will take place at the BAM Harvey Theater/Steinberg Screen at 7:30pm on Saturday, June 25, 2016.
