NY Asian Film Festival is June 28 - July 14

The New York Asian Film Festival 2019 will take place June 28 through July 11 at Film at Lincoln Center in the Walter Reade Theater and July 11 through the 14th at SVA Theatre. The festival is co-presented with Confucius Institute Headquarters and China Institute.

HBO will present Materials with Yuen Woo-ping. Best known by western audiences for movies The Matrix, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and Kill Bill, Woo-ping is a choreographer and director who will discuss art and career in Asia and America. The Master class will take place on July 7 at 7:30p.m.  Yuen Woo-ping will also be the recipient of this year's Star Asia Lifetime Achievement Award, also a subject of a tribute with three films screening at the festival.

Screen International Rising Star Asia Award will be given to both Nana Komatsu and Ryu Jun-yeol. Komatsu will receive her award before the opening night film Samurai Marathon on June 28 and Ryu will receive the award on July 6.
