Martin Scorsese Opens NYFF with The Irishman

(released 9/27/2019)

Martin Scorcese introduced his latest film The Irishman, which opened the 57th annual New York Film Festival on Friday evening September 27, 2019. A white press tent for arrivals was situated outside Alice Tully Hall where the premiere screening took place.

The three and a half hour film screening brought out New York stars. Robert DeNiro, Al Pacino, Joe Pesci, Harvey Keitel, Ray Ramono, and Jesse Plemons appear in the film and came to the screening.  They made their way into the tent amidst flashing cameras.  Actresses Maggie Gyllenhaal, Kirsten Dunst, and Katie Holmes added Hollywood dazzle to the red carpet arrivals. Other notable faces entering the premiere screening included: Mike Myers, Spike Lee and wait, who let Comedian Jim Norton in tonight? Good to see Jim in bigger circles.

The film's world premiere at the New York Film Festival will be followed by an international premiere in London on October 13, and then by a limited theater release. Netflix will release the film for streaming on November 27, 2019.
