We ran across a production shooting in FiDi on Tuesday, July 15. Set 1 was on the street at Beaver and Hanover. Unlike most productions that shoot on the street and ask pedestrians to walk on the other side or wait between takes, this was a closed set. This production actually blocked the street in all directions to gain full control. They had police directing car traffic around the area creating more energy than normal. It actually made the street level feel like pre-pandemic lunch time energy in the canyon.
Set 2 was being prepped for inside Delmonico's, the famed steakhouse on the corner of Beaver and William Streets.
What was it? It's a TV pilot for NBC Television / Universal Television. It is still going by Untitled Wootton Coburn Project. That's Nick Wootton and Jake Coburn. Wootton has written for Scorpion, Prison Break, Law & Order, Blind Justice, and NYPD Blue. Coburn also wrote for the original Gossip Girl and the TV shows Arrow and Quantico.
This show plays to their strengths. It is described in many places as...
A high-stakes two-hander featuring two women, a recently captured brilliant criminal mastermind and the principled, relentless and socially outcast FBI agent who will stop at nothing to foil her ambitious plan.
Producing along with Wootton and Coburn are Julie Plec, Emily Cummins, Andrew Schneider, and Justin Lin who is also directing the pilot.
The two female leads are Morena Baccarin and Ryan Michelle Bathe. Acting opposite the leads will be Kamal Bolden and Noah Bean.
Here are a couple pics from Tuesday location shoot.
