MoMI's Teen Council Accepting Applications

(released 9/16/2024)

New York teens interested in the media arts and want a behind-the scenes look at how a media museum works can apply to be a part of the 2024-2025 Teen Council Program. As part of the Teen Digital Media Innovators program, Teen Council members curate and program public events for youth, including film festivals, media workshops and more.

The program is open to high school students ages 15+ and enrolled in 10th, 11th or 12th grade as of Fall 2024. This is a job development program and provides a stipend upon completion.  Council members meet November through May on select Wednesdays and Saturdays. Members must commit to all meeting dates, including a Friday afternoon/evening May 9, 2025.

The annual cohort of fifteen Teen Council members collaborate with other NYC teens to shape the Museum's offerings for teens. Council members gain experience curating, public programing, day-to day operational understanding learning organizational and project management while exploring the history and technology of the moving image.
