'Shifting the Canvas' Signs Scott Thompson
Scott Thompson (Kids in the Hall) has been signed to play a dramatic lead role in the upcoming feature film Shifting the Canvas. The film will be a Roaring Leo / Deeper Magic Production. It is being directed by Chuck Griffith (Thank you, Good Night) and produced by Robert Zimmer, Jr. (Half Life).
Thompson will be playing the role of Marcus, a down-and-out café owner in Brooklyn battling the urban virus of gentrification around his shop. Marcus is described by the filmmakers as a charming sugar-daddy type with a younger lover, and "patriarch" to a wayward group of younger gay and lesbian artists in Brooklyn, New York.
Production is slated for this fall in Brooklyn. They hope to make submission deadlines for LA's Outfest and Tribeca FF, both in December.
