Athena Film Festival Accepting Submissions

(released 6/27/2020)

"An Athena film is one of defiance, survival, breakthrough and radical joy that comes from living as yourself. There are many ways to be a leader and there are even more ways to be a leader as a woman. Leadership was defined, and continues to be defined by men. Athena Films challenge that narrative and show how women work in and outside of this traditional definition to change what leadership looks like." states the Athena Film Festival Team in an announcement that submissions for the 2021 Athena Film Festival at Barnard College have begun.

To ensure BIWOC voices are amplified, the festival is offering submission fee waivers to the films written or directed by BIWOC artists. Also, the festival will offer fee waivers for films that have been financially affected by COVID-19. Filmmakers can fill out the above linked forms to request a fee waiver.
